The reason this blog is called “His Pleasant Place” is because of Psalm 16: 5-6. It is our hearts’ desire that our home would be Ben/Ryan’s “pleasant place”.

SO MANY THOUGHTS
Confused and concerned.
Loving having all the kids under one roof but wish it wasn't for these reasons.
More busy than usual homeschooling the little boys and overseeing Lydia doing her high school online.
Wondering how long this social distancing will last- 3 weeks, one month, 3 months, longer?
Anxious about risks to our health and well-being and also about the financial impact of all this social-distancing.
Trying to make sense of all the scientific and medical charts, projections, and predictions being made about this situation.
Missing seeing my Mom and Dad since we are sort of self-quarantining ourselves because of all the variables we present: little kids who attract germs, Andrew working in the medical field, and college kids who have been traveling to and from their campuses. Just too many unknowns we could unknowingly expose my parents to so deciding to play it very safe.
Lots of prayers being lifted up for those who are sick, for those who are anxious over this, for the health care workers who are helping us all, for our leaders for wisdom, for all the parents who have become "teachers" overnight, for our kids who are trying to figure out why things have changed for them so quickly, for our churches that cannot meet in our buildings anymore but are trying to figure out how to do this virtually.
Praying that in someway our family can help those who are suffering because of these current difficulties. How can we be the hands and feet of our Lord Jesus?
Trying to remember that our Lord is more powerful than any unknown virus. He is watching over us and wants to comfort us and give us peace as we go through this weird and confusing time for our community, country, and world. Praying this unique and challenging time for all of us will challenge all of us to become closer to Christ.
Lots to think about...
