WRAPPING UP JANUARY WITH A GOOD LAUGH!

Never hurts to have a good laugh, right?

Haven't been writing here much lately.  Here are some reasons why:

1. Getting ready for Christmas

2. Christmas

3. Regrouping after Christmas

4. It's too cold to think...we haven't had much snow, but we have had some very cold weather stretches.  Good weather to just stay cozy and warm at home, which is one of the reasons for my next reason:

5. Reading lots of books.  I've always been a big reader, but the last few years, I've experienced some dry spells of not reading much at all.  However, this January, reading has taken precedence in my life again.  To the point where I sort of feel I'm ignoring the human beings around me.  A good book is pretty tempting!

6. Probably the most interesting reason of all: the boys' behavior has been pretty "typical" lately.  We are just having routine days of school, homework, having fun, and then to bed.  To me, this typical behavior is quite the accomplishment.  Sometimes because of Down syndrome, we hit road blocks and obstacles that we have to try and figure out how to help the boys through.  But these past weeks, they have been acting like just typical boys who sometimes are good and sometimes are naughty, and not as many challenges due to their special needs, if that makes sense.  It's been nice to be ordinary for a spell.  I'm very proud of these guys.  They work hard at school (especially Ben) and they are really learning to roll with things better.  They are funny and sweet!  And they make us laugh!

So that has been what's happening the past couple months.  Here's hoping for more ordinary!
